A New Release
Coming soon
An honest account of a life that went off course—and the redemption that followed. This book shares the full story beyond the headlines that were written, revealing the consequences of living my way and the transformation that came through faith.
The Architecture of a Soul Restored
My story didn’t begin in brokenness—it began in privilege.
I was raised in a strong family with a solid foundation and a clear sense of right and wrong. But over time, I chose to rely on my own judgment instead of that foundation. What started as independence became self-reliance, and eventually led me down a path of compromise, smuggling, and prison.
That season stripped everything down.
In that place, there were no distractions—only time and truth. I was forced to face the reality that my way had come at a cost I could no longer ignore.
But it wasn’t the end.
What followed was the beginning of restoration. Not all at once, but step by step. Redemption became a daily walk—learning to surrender, to trust, and to follow a different path. What faith calls sanctification.
God didn’t just pull me out—He began reshaping me.
The architecture of a restored soul is built over time—through humility, obedience, and change. My past wasn’t erased, but it was repurposed into something meaningful.
This is that story.
A life that went off course… and was redirected—one day at a time.
A message from Russell
Looking back, I can see that even the hardest parts of my life carried a purpose.
There were blessings I didn’t recognize at the time—even in places I never expected to find them. My time in prison, as difficult as it was, became a turning point. It slowed me down long enough to understand what the Lord had for me, and what I had been missing all along.
That doesn’t mean everything was restored the way I might have hoped.
There are still consequences. Some relationships, especially within my family, remain fractured. Those are realities I carry, and they remind me daily of the cost of living my way.
But God has been faithful in ways I didn’t earn.
For the past 22 years, I’ve been blessed with a steady and loving home life with my wife, Robin. Along the way, we’ve shared life with more than a few good dogs—each one adding a little more joy to the journey. I stay rooted in Bible studies, both attending and leading one with friends I’ve known since childhood. I still attend my home church, Nashville First Baptist, where I was on the cradle roll. Robin and I have also led a connect group for the unhoused community for the past 20 years.
I’m grateful for the many Godly men and women in my life—dear friends who continue to encourage me, challenge me, and help keep me on the right path.
And yes—I still ride my Harley.
Life today isn’t about perfection. It’s about direction. It’s about continuing to walk the path God set before me, one day at a time, with gratitude for where I’ve been brought and hope for what’s still ahead.
My prayer is simple—that something in this story encourages you, wherever you are in your own journey.
