Preparing for Publication

As I work through the final steps of preparing my book for publication, I find myself experiencing a mixture of excitement, gratitude, and reflection.

For years, this story existed mostly in my memories. Some parts were easy to revisit. Others were difficult. There were moments I questioned whether I should tell it at all. After all, much of my life has already been written about by others. But this book was never intended to be about headlines or public perception. It was meant to be an honest account of God's faithfulness through a life that often chose its own direction.

Now, as publication draws closer, I can't help but wonder what the Lord has in store.

Not from a sales perspective. Not from a recognition perspective. But from a purpose perspective.

I have learned that God rarely wastes our experiences—even the painful ones. The mistakes, failures, disappointments, and consequences that once seemed meaningless often become the very things He uses to encourage someone else.

If this book helps one person avoid a destructive path, find hope after failure, or turn back toward God, then every page will have been worth writing.

Looking back, I never could have imagined the journey that brought me here. There were seasons when I was certain I knew best. Seasons when I ignored God's direction and followed my own plans. Yet through every detour, every hard lesson, and every consequence, the Lord remained faithful.

He never stopped pursuing me.

Today, I am grateful for far more than the opportunity to publish a book. I am grateful for God's grace. I am grateful for good health. I am grateful for purpose. Most of all, I am grateful that He did not leave me where I was.

As the manuscript is prepared for print, I find myself filled with anticipation—not for what the book might accomplish, but for what God might do with it.

My prayer is simple:

May this story honor Him.

May it point readers not to me, but to the God who transforms broken lives.
